How to make positive thinking work for you?

It is not bizarre to buy a book on positive thinking, flip through it, get enthusiastic for a little while, and the go right back to our normal pattern of thinking. Why don't we take positive thinking as our way of being? Is this process of thinking very hard to adopt, or is it that our life and individuals around us are so negative that it is all but hopeless for an individual to become positive and continue so?

Really if you think about it, people really don't stick with this positive-thinking approach. Why? Mainly Because of two reasons.

People fail to understand the essence of the inner workings of positive thinking and apply it in a wrong way.

People expect quick results and when we do not see any noticeable benefit with in a period of 2 -3 days they loose attentiveness. And progressively their familiar thought pattern comes back.

Eighty percent of the thoughts of a normal person are negative. When we start thinking positively we just adjust to a new stream of thought --which is a positive one-- with all our unpositive thoughts. “I’ll get the raise easily”. This is a conscious thought stream. But in the evening returning home from work we keep thinking negatively and how difficult it is going to be. This unpositive thought comes to our mind automatically (unconsciously). We convert this thought with lots of unpositive emotion. And all these happen without our being knowledgeable of what we are doing.

To free the full power of positive thinking you have to arrest and kill negative thought spikes. You can do it! It is not back breaking and becomes simpler with practice.

So how do we get accelerated results from our positive thinking efforts. The answer to this question is there is no easy way to get results overnight. When used properly positive thinking has the power to do wonders in your life. The best thing to do is get started. After that stay immersed and the results will come.
